The Cracks Background Info

Australia’s answer to halcyon indie rock The Crack’s devised their namesake in reflection of the writings of Carlos Castaneda, who explains reality by ‘looking through the cracks’. The four piece who originate from our very own of Sydney Australia, summon dirty blues rock and roll to grace upon your ears, that has an even more powerful incarnation when you see it live. This specific sound and creative energy has henceforth been awarded and praised by critics so come check out a live show or find some tunes hiding between the cracks… (via ReverbNation)

MarsBands Review

Harmony driven Rock music is always a treat to come across, and The Cracks have no shortage of either. At times I find myself hearing a bit of Classic Rock in their music mixed with bits of Modern Rock. Add to that bits of bits of Blues and you’ve got yourself a fresh and exciting sound. We don’t have too many bands from Australia on MarsBands, so it’s great that we get to add such a talented group as The Cracks to our lineup!

The Cracks make some up-tempo music with crunchy guitars, snappy drum beats and again, harmony that ranks right up there with some of the best. The Cracks remind me a bit at times of the Burning Shapes in how important harmony is to their music. And that’s good, because they are highly skilled at it. It’s always a good thing when a band can use their voices as an additional instrument to the music. Speaking of instruments, The Cracks have some fairly skilled guitar players.

The Cracks’ music is high on energy, so if you’re in need of a pick-me-up, The Cracks are the way to go. You’ll find yourself peppier and your ears will thank you for it. Below you’ll find 4 songs from The Cracks and my personal favorite was Rapture, followed closely by Caroline. I enjoyed Rapture because of the wah-ish guitar and the fantastic guitar playing. Do yourself a favor and give The Cracks a listen! Enjoy!
