MarsBands Review

Sounding like a mix of The Hives and The Kinks, The Breaks will provide your ears with more than enough guitar tickling, bass thumping, drum pounding and vocal excellence to keep your attention and make you take notice. My favorite songs from The Breaks are Spaghetti and Sister Nancy, and I’ll bet they’ll be your favorites, too.

The Breaks have great rhythm, and their music will certainly make you want to shake your groove-thang’. Clever and intelligent lyrics only heighten the appeal of the band. They can play it soft(er) and slow when necessary, and play it loud, hard and fast at the drop of a hat. If exciting guitar solos are your thing, you’re going to like The Breaks. If mesmerizing vocals get you all fired up, you’re going to like The Breaks.

These are a bunch of guys who are making music because they love music and because they are having fun doing it. Those are the absolute best reasons, in my book, so The Breaks get high marks for that!

Take some time and listen to The Breaks and find out what all the St. Louis music scene has to offer. You will be pleasantly surprised. The following songs can be found on their EP, Odd Man Out, that was released in January of 2011. Enjoy!
