Aaron Kamm and the One Drops Background Info
A staple of the St.Louis music scene, Aaron Kamm and the One Drops play an intoxicating concoction of Roots Reggae and Mississippi River Blues. Improv-laced Jams, dubbed out grooves and Effervescent Vocals make this band must see. After the release of there second studio album “Grow” in 2010, this independent trio is beginning to forge there way across the country. (taken from Aaron Kamm and the One Drops Facebook Page)
MarsBands Review
Aaron Kamm and the One Drops combines two of my favorite types of music - Blues and Reggae. We have spot-lighted a few Reggae/Ska bands on this sight (not nearly enough, however) so if Reggae is your thing, perhaps check out Streetlight Manifesto, Papafish, and The Expos.
Aarom Kamm has a brilliantly strong voice which completely embodies all that is Reggae. I’ve always felt that Reggae and Ska are the perfect dance music. Aaron Kamm and the One Drops make music that will get you moving, or at the very least swaying. This band has great guitar riffs, sharp drum beats, harmony, and driving bass lines. Oh ya, and some sweet ass guitar solos.
When they make their appearance at the Whitaker Music Festival, they will have released their newest album The Bomb and the Beast (to be released March 29th). And although I haven’t heard it, I have heard their music from their prior albums and I am confident I will be able to recommend it to you. So be on the look out for that. Until then, enjoy Aaron Kamm and the One Drops music below via bandcamp.
