MarsBands Review
The Dirtbombs are a fantastic mix of sounds. It’s a little Hip Hop, a little Garage Rock, a little Rock all wrapped up in a way that’s unique to The Dirtbombs. They aren’t exactly an Independent band, and they certainly aren’t new, but they aren’t as popular as I’d like them to be. This is some awesome music and we need to let more people know about it.
The Dirtbombs have almost a Jazzy feel to their songs while giving off a Classic Rock vibe. My favorite song from them, Wreck My Flow, is off their 2008 release, We Have You Surrounded. It has some edgy guitars, fantastic bass-line, and horns (I think it’s a trumpet, but don’t quote me on that)! The Dirtbombs actually have a rather difficult sound to describe. And I really don’t want to offend the band, but for some reason I think of Dirtbombs as a much better, Rockier Gorillaz.
Like I said, it’s hard to describe them, so do yourself a favor and check them out and hear for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
