The MarsBands Mascot Contest

Everybody likes a little friendly competition, right?

Are you an artist? Maybe you just like to draw. Maybe you are a fan of either The Oh Wells or No Island. Or perhaps you are just a fan of great music. If any of those apply to you, pay close attention.

MarsBands.com wants a new mascot, and we want you to make it. Check out the video below, or continue reading if you prefer words over moving pictures.

The rules of the contest are pretty simple:

  • Must be your original artwork
  • You must be OK with us using/building upon your artwork as our official mascot.
  • Submissions may be hand drawn, computer aided, or a combination
  • Keep the pictures PG-13
  • Submit as many pictures as your brain can come up with
  • All submissions must be sent to [email protected]
  • Must submit your picture by Jan. 31st, 2012 at 11:59pm (cst)

The Nitty Gritty

Any visitor to MarsBands.com may submit a picture for the contest from Jan. 1st, 2012 until Jan. 31st, 2012, at 11:59pm (central standard time). Once the submission period is over, we will go through all the entries and narrow them down to our three favorites.
On Feb. 6th, 2012, we will post the three that we liked the most and then let visitors to the site vote on which one they like the most. Each visitor gets one vote. Whichever submission has the most votes at the end of the voting period will be the MarsBands Mascot Contest Winner. The voting period runs from Feb. 6th, 2012 until March 4th, 2012, at 11:59pm (central standard time).
On March 5th we will announce the winner on our site and email the winner to get their shipping address and other details.

The Prize Package

The winner of the MarsBands Mascot Contest will receive:
  • No Island‘s album, Sign of the Times, autographed by all the members of the band
  • The Oh Wells‘ EP, Not That Girl From Transformers, two Oh Wells buttons, and a trendy and super useful Oh Wells bag
  • MarsBands.com stickers and a T-Shirt featuring the new mascot

 

Additional Details

So there it is. A fun little artistic competition with a pretty awesome prize-pack. The contest officially starts as soon as you’re done reading this.

Email all your drawings and pictures to [email protected].
Be sure to use a valid email address because that’s the email we’ll be using to notify the winner.

Unfortunately, it looks like it could take anywhere from 2-5 weeks for the stickers and t-shirt to be designed, ordered, and shipped to us. We will make every effort to get the winner their prize package as soon as we possibly can.

By submitting a picture to MarsBands.com you forfeit any rights you may have had to that picture. All submissions become the property of MarsBands.com.
