Formed in early 2009, the Ryan O’Reilly Band has quietly become one of the most passionate and amazing live performances you may ever be fortunate enough to see while in London. The band has released one EP, Emily, and are currently working on their debut album. Ryan O’Reilly, Tali Trow, David Granshaw, Spencer Cullum Jr., Patrick Kenneally, and Mike Farmer combine to create some of the most amazing vocal harmonics around. Ryan O’Reilly is one of the most passionate singers you may ever hear.
When I saw this band, I knew right away that I had to post them immediately. I bumped down quite a few other pretty good bands just so that I could get him up ASAP - that’s how strongly I feel about Ryan O’Reilly and his music. This band is astounding. Starting as a simple street band, they quickly gained people’s attention because of the harmonies, slick lyrics, and elegant, yet powerful, guitar strumming. Here’s another thing I really like about this band:
Per the Ryan O’Reilly Facebook page - …contact us at [email protected] and we’ll start promoting the show together. This has worked so far in Belgium, Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark & Norway and every show has been fantastic. It’s a small musical revolution that cuts out booking agents and promoters getting between the listeners and musicians…
And to top it all off, they saved up money and set up a studio in Brixton so they could record their own music. Pioneers of music! If you are in the London area and you don’t get these guys to come play a show for you, there is something seriously wrong in your head.
The song that I immediately had an ear-gasm over was “November“. It’s the one in the band profile box above. In that song Ryan O’Reilly sings with so much emotion, it literally looks like it hurts him. Every ounce of emotion and passion in his body comes out in this song. “November” is amazing, with intelligent, clever lyrics, great guitar strumming, and my personal favorite, impeccable vocal harmony. The Ryan O’Reilly band also has some other incredible songs like “Boats Against the Current“, “There For You” (my second favorite), and “The Morning“.
If MarsBands.com could marry this band, we would. Go out there and give them your support. This is real music that needs to be heard.
