The Rundown: From Chelmsford, England, Evans The Death is made up of Dan Moss on guitar, Olly Moss on bass, Katherine Whitaker as lead vocals and keyboard, Rob Mitson the drummer, and Matt Gill an additional guitarist. Formed in 2008, the band got its name from the undertaker in Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood. Influenced by the likes of Morrissey, Lawrence Felt, Jarvis Cocker, My Bloody Valentine, The Pixies and more, Evans The Death has a slight Punk/Pop type sound to their music.

Evans The Death has not released any albums as of yet, but they have released two singles, “I’m So Unclean” and “Threads”. What I have gathered from those two music videos on YouTube, (they also have other live songs of lesser audio quality) their sound is an Indie Pop/Rock/Punk hybrid, as it has quick chord progressions and some fast-fretted baselines but enough catchy riffs to make it Poppy. “I’m So Unclean” and “Threads” are both quick paced songs, and will probably get you tapping your feet or something. It’s hard to sit still when listening to good music.

The lyrics of Katherine Whitaker are well thought out, and you’ll really need to listen if you want to get the full scope of the song and what it’s about. MarsBands.com likes Evans The Death. We think you will, too.
