The Rundown: Animal Kingdom are an Indie Rock band from South London, England. Formed in 2008 and made up of Richard Sauberlich, Hamish Crombie, and Geoff Lea, the band has released one album, “Signs and Wonders”.

Animal Kingdom has a long list of influences which include the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Elliot Smith, Radiohead, Bjork and many others.

Some of their songs are soft, sad sounding and slow, which reminds me of Kenna, Radiohead and Coldplay all wrapped into one awesome band. Their music and sound is expansive. When you listen to it, the world seems to get huge, time seems to slow down.

Like many bands featured here on MarsBands, Animal Kingdom may not be the loudest or “rockiest”, but out of that quiet softness comes some insanely deep lyrical genius.

Check out some of my favorites from Animal Kingdom: Two by Two, Tin Man, Bright Lights, Mephistopheles and Signs and Wonders. MarsBands.com recommends you check out Animal Kingdom.
