The Rundown: Julie Potash, or as she is better know, Hesta Prynn, burst onto the music scene in 2010 with her very own EP, “Can We Go Wrong“. A member of the band Northern State, Julie Potash started working on her solo career after the band released their third album. Julie has released three EPs: “Hip Hop You Haven’t Heard” (2002), “At the Party” (2005), and “Better Already” (2007).

Hesta Prynn’s song, “Can We Go Wrong“, has been used in ads for Ray-Ban and Nylon Fashion. The video for her song was a stop motion video that was made up of 13,000 still images. If you haven’t seen it, you absolutely must check it out. It is stop motion at its finest. Hesta Prynn has the full endorsement of Sara Quin from Tegan and Sara. Sara stated this

about Hesta Prynn’s music: “It’s not just enough to just dance alone to these songs, I actually feel as though I need an entire group of people behind me as a visual representation of how amazing I feel when I’m listening (and dancing) to this music.

Another song by Hesta Prynn you might want to check out is “Turn it Gold“. Sort of an electro-pop mix, Turn it Gold is a catchy little diddy that also has a very nice video to accompany it. MarsBands.com thinks you should know who Hesta Prynn is as she will likely become a fairly well-known lady in the coming years.
